The advantages of the Massiv-Holz-Mauer®
The Massiv-Holz-Mauer® offers numerous advantages that are sometimes interdependent and symbiotically overlap. See for yourself!
The Massiv-Holz-Mauer® is rated and certified as fire safety class REI 90 and has tested sound levels. Solid timber walls also offer protection against high-frequency radiation. The technical drying of the wood makes the product resistant to wood pests. The product-specific structure of the Massiv-Holz-Mauer® offers the entire construction significantly better protection against mechanical effects and outside impacts than conventional timber constructions.
Through the use of dried wood and no adhesive or grout whatsoever, a dry and comfortable atmosphere is immediately perceptible in an MHM building right from the start. The building material MHM equalises temperature fluctuations between the inside and outside, has a positive impact on the moisture balance and thus also regulates the indoor climate.
If you have an unusual floor plan in mind, Massiv-Holz-Mauer® is the perfect answer because its versatility makes any floor plan possible – there are no restrictive grid patterns. Additional advantages are the freedom of choice in the wall geometry, in the individual design of the façade and in the insulation standard.
Year-round construction is possible
Because most of the work at the building site can be carried out using the dry construction method, an MHM construction project does not have to be tied to the seasons and, given the right weather conditions, building assembly can even be started during the winter months without hesitation.
The Massiv-Holz-Mauer® is manufactured regionally on specially developed MHM production lines in decentralised manufacturing plants. Your floor plan is designed using CAD software and manufactured with computer-controlled machine tools. The high degree of prefabrication guarantees simple, fast and safe installation of your building shell.
Your MHM house or building is prefabricated with weather proofing at the regional manufacturing plant within a manufacturing time of around 3 to 4 days and efficiently loaded onto lorries. The structure of the shell for a single-family home is completed on the building site within another 3 to 4 days. This shortens the total project duration and site time for cranes and scaffolding compared with conventional construction projects. This means that your timber construction project can be realised promptly, to a high quality and cost-effectively.
Our solid timber walls are ideal long term stores of CO2 and thus actively contribute to climate protection. By using natural, regenerative wood, we are able to create healthy and sustainable living space and, at the same time, save on valuable mineral and fossil resources. This benefits humans and nature.
The wood required for a spacious single-family home grows back within around half a minute in German forests and absorbs over 115 tonnes of CO2.* These are arguments that truly speak for themselves and are now an indispensable part of modern decision-making in the construction industry.
*) (Calculation method: Growth in forestry stock in Germany = 121.6 million m³/year = 231.3 m³/min. Therefore, 115.7 m³ of timber would grow in half a minute, which is sufficient for a single-family home built using the MHM construction method. Approximately one tonne of CO2 is stored per m³ of timber. Source: German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.)
The overall energy balance of a building doesn’t come down to just the energy consumed during its use. Factors such as the energy requirement involved in manufacturing the construction materials, during the construction of the building and their subsequent disposal are also taken into account. This is where the Massiv-Holz-Mauer® scores in several ways, with short transport distances, fast installation and – if necessary – simple dismantling.
The softwood boards used to manufacture the Massiv-Holz-Mauer® require only minimal pre-processing and are joined together without glue on the state-of-the-art MHM production line to form a wall element. This only requires a fraction of the energy that is needed to produce conventional building materials. In this way, the Massiv-Holz-Mauer® makes a significant contribution to the implementation of climate-friendly construction methods.
Banks and insurance companies frequently offer favourable terms on sustainable and secure building projects. The short installation time and various funding opportunities tailored to the energy class help ensure low construction costs.
